Danny and Lenny Bernstein created Kimberly Crest Books in 2015 to publish the books we wanted to write. Both of us started writing after traditional careers – Danny in computer science, Lenny in chemical engineering.
Danny focuses on hiking and has published three books with traditional publishers.
Her next book, Forest, Alligators, Battlefields: My Journey through the National Parks of the South, tells the story of the seventy-one (71) national parks in the Southeast. Every national park has a human story as well as great scenery. In her travel narrative, you’ll meet the historic figures, rangers, volunteers, park partners, and visitors-the people who bring the park alive.
The book will be published in 2016, the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service.
Lenny is a fan of alternate history – stories based on a well-known historical event turning out differently.
Since first learning the details of Washington’s crossing of the Delaware thirty years ago, he has been fascinated by the question: What if Washington had lost? The Autobiography of William Watson is his answer to that question.
He completed The Great Rebellion, the first book of the William Watson trilogy, and started the process of finding a publisher, when Danny began exploring independent publishing.
The longer we talked about the pros and cons, the better the idea looked and Kimberly Crest Books was born.
The Great Rebellion is now available. Forests, Alligators, Battlefields will be available in April 2016.
